Abstract

Team Bloo examined the facets of trust and communication within the Hook the Vote, a student government agency at the University of Texas at Austin. The objective of this analysis was to discover the strengths and shortcomings within Hook the Vote in order to closely examine the communication and leadership within the organization. This was done though a mixture of analytical, archival, and in-person research over the course of the spring semester. Despite time constraints and other unforeseen circumstances, Team Bloo was effectively able to identify issues within Hook the Vote and provide in depth research for them to utilize moving forward. In this study, issues of trust, communication, mental mapping, delegation, transparency, and commitment were found. Although Hook the Vote is a reputable, accomplished organization, issues of internal structure act as a barrier to progress.
